We study the behavior, physiology, and ecology of insects, and how they are impacted by rapid environmental change in the Anthropocene. We are especially curious about variation across scales (from individuals to communities) and interested in how climate change and agricultural intensification affect bees and the ecosystem services they provide to agriculture. We address these questions by developing scalable, quantitative methods for studying bees, the health of their populations, and how they interact with plants.
